PCH Shell Theatre

TPS was engaged by Child and Adolescent Health Services (CAHS) to undertake the fitout of a shell theatre at Perth Children’s Hospital, delivering a fully functional and integrated operating environment within a live hospital setting.

The scope involved a full fitout of the theatre shell, including the installation of Getinge pendants and advanced theatre control wall panels to support critical surgical operations. All works were carried out while maintaining the ongoing operations of adjacent, fully active operating theatres.

Operating within a live hospital environment demanded strict compliance with infection control and safety protocols. TPS implemented comprehensive dust control strategies, including HEPA-filtered vacuums, wet-cutting methods, and full site containment using sealed hoarding to create a negative pressure construction zone. Construction access was carefully separated from hospital staff, patients, and sterile zones through independently designated routes.

Meticulous planning and close coordination with stakeholders enabled TPS to deliver the works with minimal disruption, maintaining uninterrupted functionality of surrounding clinical areas. The project reinforces TPS’s proven capability to deliver high-spec healthcare fitouts safely, efficiently, and in full alignment with hospital operational requirements.
